Obituary: Ronald Francis Heglund, 68, of Scottville

Ronald Heglund

Ronald Francis Heglund, 68, of Scottville passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.  Ron was born on February 7, 1958 in Ludington, the son of Frank F. and Marcella V. (Astrauskas) Heglund and graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1976 and he furthered his education at West Shore Community College.  Ron was in sales and supervision at Motion Industries, Great Lakes Business Forms, and most recently for Trane Heating and Cooling in Grand Rapids.

Ron liked traveling, especially on warm weather cruises.  He enjoyed trips to casinos and playing cards with family and friends.  He had many plans for the future, but reflecting upon his life, he felt satisfied he had done more good, then harm.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marcella.  He will be greatly missed by his brother Richard and Geri Heglund of Scottville; his nieces and nephews Jennifer (Nick) Fleming of Duluth, Minn., Dr. Richard (Riv) Heglund of Port Huron, and Valerie (Myles) Strong of Clarkston; his great niece and nephews Benjamin and Hannah Fleming, and Parker and Graham Strong, uncle Larry Astrauskas, and numerous cousins.

No services are planned for Ron at this time and his family will have a private burial at Center Riverton Cemetery in Riverton Township later this spring.

Ronald’s family would like to express their great appreciation to his care team at Corewell Health and Medilodge.  Especially home health care nurse Katie, Dr. C, and nurse Sydney, Mr. Steve (who always kept the driveway clear); and his best friends, Dave, John and Ernie who were always there for him.
