LUDINGTON — Men Who Care of Mason County recently donated $3,100 to the Childhood Cancer Campaign. The donation represents the contribution of $50 from 62 local men who are part of Men Who Care.

The Childhood Cancer Campaign (CCC) is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves families in Mason County and surrounding areas who have a child diagnosed with cancer, by providing emotional and financial assistance. The CCC is currently working with four area families and helps to address individual needs of each family, assisting with transportation needs, gas cards, lodging costs, utility payments, food costs, vehicle maintenance, etc. Started in 2004, the CCC has served dozens of families in need during one of the worst times imaginable. It is overseen by a local board of directors, many of whose families have been affected by childhood cancer.

The CCC holds an annual Lemonade Stand Day the first Saturday in June and will hold a fundraiser at Ludington Culver’s on Tuesday, March 10, assisting with food orders for a portion of the evening sales between 5 to 8 p.m. For information, contact Patricia or Tom Ezdebski at 231.631.7435.

Men Who Care of Mason County was founded in 2025. During its quarterly meetings, local non-profit charitable organizations are nominated for pitches from one of the attendees. Three groups are picked at random and the spokesman has five minutes to give a pitch. The group then votes. Each man in attendance vows to donate $50 to the organization that is chosen. Its next meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 5:30 p.m. at People’s Church, 115 W. Loomis St.
