BALDWIN — Pentwater defeated Mason County Eastern Wednesday in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 District 109 district semifinals. The Falcons were victorious over the Cardinals 70-45.
“We got off to a really slow start and just couldn’t recover,” said MCE Coach Austin Boundy. “Pentwater scouted us very well so we struggled to run our sets and get open looks. We talked about getting some more off-ball movement in the locker room at halftime, which looked way better in the second half. We just dug a hole we couldn’t get out of. Our guys played hard until the final buzzer though.
“Our seniors, Aaron and Danny, played very physical down low and sparked our defense going in the third quarter. Shorthanded with a starter out, Trevor stepped up big on both ends of the court and rebounded well.”
