LUDINGTON — Ludington squashed Big Rapids Wednesday in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, District 35 tournament semi-finals. The Orioles defeated the Cardinals 77-44.
Ludington’s defense was on point, limiting the Cardinals to four first quarter points and forcing multiple turnovers to allow for transition opportunities.
The Orioles took a 40-16 lead to the break. Taj Williams made three of his four 3 pointers in the first half to lead the Orioles. The Orioles continued their stellar play in the second half outscoring the Cardinals 25-15 in the third quarter.
LHS upped its record to 21-2 and will play the 20-3 Hart Pirates for district title on Friday at Hawley Gymnasium.
