Veronica Lach

Veronica A. Lach, 74, of Ludington, formerly of Chicago, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Veronica, lovingly known as Roni, was born on March 20, 1951, in Chicago, to the late Alex Paul and Irene Frances (O’Brien) Lach. She worked at Marathon Gas Station, Metal Works, and at NSI Cleaners. She retired in 2014 and was able to spend more time with her beloved grandchildren.

Roni was known for her free spirit, creative, and generous nature. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Roni also had a passion for crime and suspense novels, often found immersed in the latest page-turner. Her creative flair was evident in the elaborate Halloween costumes she crafted for her children, each one a testament to her imaginative spirit. Additionally, she enjoyed playing games on her phone, keeping her mind sharp and entertained. Her generosity and spirit will be cherished and remembered by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Veronica is survived by her children, Jason Lach, and his former wife, Danielle, Adam (Kristy) Lach, and Heather (Jonathan) Haarala-Collins, and her former husband Jeff; grandchildren, Matthew, Madison, Kelsei, Molly, Luke, and Katie; great grandchildren, Nova, and Evie; sisters, Sue (Ben) Horbacz, Pat Lach, and Anne (Vince) Evola; nieces and nephews, Jen (Marty) Evola-Graham, Angie (Jeff) Escher, Joe (Therese) Evola. Julie (Brian) Garcia, Stanley Sidowricz, and Chrissy (Joe) Lamb.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Allen Lach.

A celebration of life will be celebrated this spring.

In honor of Roni’s mother, memorial contributions may be directed to The Leukemia Research Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
