The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Monday, Feb. 2, 2026:

  • 7:46 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 22-year-old Pentwater man was transported to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital for serious injuries sustained in a vehicle crash, 8000 block of US 31, Free Soil Township.
  • 11 a.m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Avon, Texas man was cited for operating without a license, US 31 near Budde Road, Grant Township.

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026:

  • 4:30 p.m., (MSP), a 28-year-old Custer man was arrested on a warrant, Hawley Road near Scottville Road, Riverton Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Friday, Feb. 6, 2026:

  • 3:45 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), vehicle slide-off, no damage or injury, US 31 south of Koenig Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 6:30 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Stiles Road, Amber Township.
  • 4:25 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 8:20 p.m., (MCSO), a 45-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County Friend of the Court warrant, 1400 block of East Mavis Road, Sherman Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 8:24 p.m., (MCSO), retail fraud, Wesco, North Main Street, City of Scottville. Deputies continue to investigate a retail fraud following the reported theft of two items. The suspect left prior to deputies’ arrival.
  • 8:55 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 36-year-old Ludington man was cited for operating without insurance following a traffic stop near Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington.
  • 9:57 p.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Manistee woman was arrested on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant and a charge of amphetamine possession, US 10 and Countyline Road, Grant Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 10:36 p.m., (MCSO), a 32-year-old Reed City woman was arrested on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant for a retail fraud charge, US 10 and Tyndall Road, Branch Township.

Saturday, Feb.7, 2026:

  • 4:34 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Meyers Road, Amber Township.

Sunday, Feb.8, 2026:

  • 1:13 a.m., (LPD), a 30-year-old Ludington man was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop near Haight and Robert streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:55 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
