FREMONT — Ludington Boys Swim team defeated Fremont on Thursday by a score of 57-37. The Orioles won every individual event and two of the three relays.
Event winners were the medley relay team of Jaden Vronko, Ian Lundberg, Dylan Sniegowski and Grady Sailor with a time of 1:49.74. Sniegowski won the 200 freestyle (1:59.99) and 100 butterfly (58.32) Lundberg won the 200 Individual Medley (2:22.85) and the 100 breaststroke(1:11.45) Sailor won the 50 freestyle (24.11) and 100 freestyle(53.12), Vronko won the 500 freestyle (6:09.90) and 100 backstroke (1:01.42) The 400 freestyle relay team of Will Ryan, Easton Warners, Nolan Jorissen and Jaden Vronko won the 400 free relay with a time of 4:00.31.
Freshman Easton Warners had a great meet with best times in the 200 Individual medley (2:30.64) and 100 backstroke(1:10.97). He achieved lifetime best times in both events.
Juniors Will Ryan and Nolan Jorissen finished third place in their events. Ryan in the 500 free (6:54.15) and the 100 fly with a lifetime best time of 1:10.90) Jorissen tied his prior time best 200 Individual medley time (2:17.00) and finished strong in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.52).
The 200 freestyle relay team of Sniegowski, Warners, Lundberg and Sailor finished second.
The Fremont pool does not have a diving board, so freshman Grayson Cogle swam two individual events and completed both with impressive best times which landed him in fourth place in the 50 (27.92) and 100 freestyle events (1:06.89).
“It was an exciting meet swimming shorthanded as four members of the team were missing due to a jazz band competition,” said LHS Coach Susan Sniegowski.
Next week Tuesday the Oriole swim and dive team competed against Alma and Manistee at the Paine Aquatic Center at Manistee High School.
