Marilyn Jane (Wetmore) Olmstead, 97, of Ludington, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Born on April 1, 1928, in Highland Park, Marilyn was the daughter of the late William F. and Dorothy M. (Brown) Wetmore. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of arts degree.
She married the love of her life, Robert Chandler Olmstead, on August 19, 1950, and they shared many wonderful years together filled with love and laughter.
Marilyn was a posting and records updater at the Mason County Abstract Association before she retired in 1987.
She was an active member of the Community Church of Ludington, where she participated in various church activities and formed lasting relationships with her fellow congregants.
An avid reader, Marilyn also had a passion for golf. She was the proud winner of the 1957 second flight trophy at Lincoln Hills Golf Club and remained an enthusiastic participant in the Lincoln Hills Ladies Program, golfing weekly and enjoying the camaraderie of the group.
She will be deeply missed by her son Robert S. (Mary Ellen) Olmstead; daughter Barbara Olmstead Peters; grandson Richard F. (Megan) Peters; great-grandchildren Alexander N. Peters and Inara Elizabth Rose Peters; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister Eleanor June Wetmore Conant.
There are no services held at this time.
