HOLTON — The Mason County Central Spartans got a conference win against the Holton Red Devils Friday night. MCC won the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division contest 48-34.
The win wasn’t easy, though.
“We came out sluggish in the first half,” MCC Coach Chris VanderHaag said. “Our execution wasn’t where it needed to be, and we were a little sloppy offensively. I thought we did a much better job in the second half—cleaned some things up, executed with more purpose, and played closer to our standard.
“We got some nice minutes out of Kyle Peters and Cole VanderHaag tonight. Cole showed his senior leadership tonight and finished with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Kyle Peters had 5 big time rebounds and 8 points.
