WHITEHALL — Ludington split its two meets at a quad meet hosted by Whitehall High School Wednesday. The Orioles defeated the Ravenna Bulldogs 38-18 but dropped to the Hesperia Panthers 59-11.
Picking up wins for the Orioles against Ravenna were Laela Rice, Brody Schnell, Taylin Carlisle, Wayne Uerling, Owen Young, Patrick Carsten, Corning Duffield, and Chase Gable, helping Ludington secure the decisive team win.
In their second dual of the evening, the Orioles faced a tough Hesperia squad and fell by a score of 59–11. Victories for Ludington in that match were recorded by Brody Schnell and Taylin Carlisle
“The team wrestled well tonight,” said LHS Coach Jonathan Ransom . “Even in our loss, the kids wrestled hard and were competitive. We still have things to work on and get fixed before the end of the year, but overall it was a good performance for us.”
“Chase Gable wrestled really well tonight,” Ransom said. “We bumped him up against Hesperia to face their heavyweight who is a state medalist.”
