In Memoriam
Mother and Son
Mrs. C.J. Lillyberg died yesterday morning, just five days after the death of her oldest son Andrew. A husband and seven children, the youngest but six days old are left. Deceased was 42 years old and had been in this country but a short time. The funeral will be held from the house tomorrow. Reb. C.V. Vestling will have charge.
Andrew, the 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Lillyberg died Thursday and was buried Saturday afternoon. Rev. Vestling officiating. The child had been ill for some time with tubercular trouble.
Frank W. Klingmoeller
Frank W. Klingmoeller died suddenly Saturday at the home of Chris Lauterwasser at the advanced age of 79 years. The deceased was rather an eccentric character and lived a hermit’s life at Lincoln since the early days when Charley Mears carried on extensive lumbering at the village. Mr. Klingmoeller kept a few domestic animals and contrived to obtain the necessities of life from the sale of eggs which he regularly brought to market.
He was neighbor of Frank Williams, another hermit, whose death occurred a year ago, and there was much rivalry between the two men, each one trying to outdo the other in poultry raising as well as in other ways.
When he was no longer able to care for himself he was given a home by Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lanterwasser, who kindly cared for the old man. In accordance with a wish expressed some time before his death, John Holmquist was the undertaker and Rev. Otto Boecler officiated at the funeral which was held Monday afternoon at the Lauterwasser home and the remains interred in the city cemetery.

Hon. C.G. Wing Finds His Home, full of Old Settler Friends Monday Evening
The beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Wing on east Ludington Avenue was the scene of an unusually happy assembly Monday evening. Mrs. Wing and daughters, Misses Ethelwyn and Alice, had invited about thirty-five old settlers and friends of the family to assist Mr. Wing in celebrating his birthday. The guests were taken out in conveyances and had nearly all arrived when Mr. Wing returned home from his office, making the surprise complete. After a three course dinner the hours of the evening were given over to social chat, the genial host entertaining the guests in his own genial and hospitable manner.
