SCOTTVILLE — Weather caused two competitors to drop out of a quad meet at Mason County Central Wednesday afternoon, resulting in a cross-county dual. The Spartans were victorious over Ludington 38-28. Whitehall and Hart had been scheduled to be part of the meet but cancelled due to weather.
“We wrestled pretty well tonight,” said MCC Coach Kendel Trim. “We came away with a win over a local rival so that is always good. We have been struggling with sickness and injury to keep the line up full but everyone is going through the same thing. It is just what this part of the season is about.”
Central had a couple big wins out of seniors Parker Overmyer at 165 pounds and David Letts at 144.
“Both of those pins really helped seal the dual, but every match is big and it took a total team effort for us to be able to finish this dual with a win,” Trim said.
MCC’s next competition is Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Montague High School.
Ludington’s boys will travel to Northview High School Saturday, Jan. 24 while the girls will compete at Sparta High School.
