VICTORY TOWNSHIP — The Lakeshore Badgers scored another victory Friday night defeating New Boston Unity 11-1 during a home match at the West Shore Community Ice Arena.
“The teams traded chances in the first period with the Badgers finding the net three times in the period,” said Lakeshore Coach Brian Zatloukal.
The second period saw New Boston score a power play goal. The Badgers came out flying and poured in 8 goals in the period, three on the power play and 1 short handed.

The team voted Grant Hill as their player of the game.
“I was very happy with the effort and execution from the team tonight, particularly in the second period,” Zatloukal said. “We’ve spent time working to improve our power play and overall defending over the last week. Our performance tonight reflected that improvement and our ability to shut down New Boston’s offense and generate offensive pressure on the forecheck.”
The Badgers return to action today when they host the Genesee Generals at 3:30 p.m.
The Lakeshore Badgers is a cooperative team hosted by Manistee Area Public Schools and consisting of high school players from MAPS, Ludington, Mason County Central, Mason County Eastern, Pentwater, Shelby and Hart.
