Varsity Boys Swimming: LHS wins dual meet

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Boys swim and dive team prevailed in dual meets against Holland and Fremont on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026.

The Orioles won every event in their 113.5 to 65 victory over conference opponent Fremont High School. They also prevailed in nine of 12 events against Holland.

“Both meets were great victories coming off a couple hard weeks of Christmas break training,” said LHS Coach Susan Sniegowski.

Every team member scored points against both opponents.  Event winners against Fremont were the 200 Medley Relay team of Jaden Vronko, Easton Warners, Will Ryan and Grady Sailor with a time of 1:53.53.  Grady Sailor in the 200 freestyle, Dylan Sniegowski in the 200 IM, Ian Lundberg in the 50 free, Sawyer Bishop in diving, Sniegowski in the 100 butterfly, Sailor in 100 freestyle, Jaden Vronko in the 500 free, the 200 Free relay team of Sniegowski, Lundberg, Will Ryan and Sailor, Vronko in the 100 backstroke, Lundberg in the 100 breaststroke, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Sniegowski, Vronko, Warners and Lundberg.

Lifetime best times were achieved by Nolan Jorissen in both the 200 and 500 freestyle, Sailor in the 200 freestyle, Lundberg in the 50 freestyle, Bishop in 50 freestyle, Grayson Cogle had a lifetime high score in diving and in the 100 butterfly, Warners and Griffin Jorissen in the 100 breaststroke.  Freshmen Kasen Carlsen and Evan Hansen provided valuable team points in events they have not competed in previously including the longer events of 200 and 500 freestyle respectively.

The team will travel to the Holland Aquatic Center on Saturday for the D3 Invitational.
