Melissa Rezny
Melissa Ann (Couture) Rezny, 62, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, surrounded by family.
Melissa was born in Winfield, Ill. to Charles and Mary Couture on June 11, 1963. She will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, kindness, and strength.
Melissa enjoyed nothing more than a simple day relaxing on the lake or spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Melissa is survived by her long-time partner Kenneth Nelson; daughters Stephanie (Rezny) Harrison and Leann Rezny; son Steven Rezny, Sister Candie (Couture) Dodson; mother Mary (Hinze) Ulrich; grandchildren Remington, Lorelai, Cambria, and Juniper; her cat Bree; along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents Victor and Marjorie (Lewis) Hinze and Lavella and Laverne (Johnson) Couture; father Charles Couture; uncles Philip and David Hinze; aunts Peg (Couture) Witt and Sharon (Couture) Merrell; and brother-in-law Richard Engstrom.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all those who loved her dearly and helped care for her in her final days. A very special thanks to the members of the DBA and to those who became such great friends through them.
A celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2026 in lieu of a service.
