LUDINGTON — The Mason-Lake Conservation District is hosting a land conservation seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mason County District Library Ludington branch, 217 E. Ludington Ave. The event will also be available online.
A panel of conservation experts from the Cadillac Area Land Conservancy, Land Conservancy of West Michigan, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service will share how their organizations and programs provide options for protecting land. Presentations will cover land donations, conservation easements, and other strategies for all land types, including forests, agricultural areas, wetlands, riparian zones, and natural open spaces. Future events are planned to focus on agricultural land easements and open land preservation programs through Michigan Public Act 116.
The seminar will feature a mix of presentations and panel discussions. Refreshments will be provided for in-person attendees, and participants attending via Zoom can register online.
