SHELBY — The Shelby Tigers defeated Mason County Central 57-26 in post-winter break conference play Tuesday night, Jan. 6.
“We played a great first half and a poor second half,” said MCC Coach Brent Lyon. “It’s the opposite of what we have played all year. Aubrey Chye and Jessica Petersen played a whale of a ball game defensively. They both guarded two of Shelby’s best players and played 30 minutes each. I’m also very proud of freshman Sage Griswold. She played hard on both ends of the court tonight. Shelby played a great game tonight coming off a long winter break. They are a tough team to beat.
“We go to Ludington on Monday so four days of practice is just what we need to get ready for that big challenge.”
