
Joyce Strong
Joyce Ellen Stong, 81, of Ludington, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Joyce, affectionally known as Moma, was born on September 28, 1944, the daughter of the late, Milo and Beulah (Boldry) Echlin. Before her 40th birthday, she went back to school and obtained her diploma in 1984 from Mason County Central, something she was very proud of. On October 14, 1989, she married Robert Stong. She was an avid member of the American Legion, being a member of the Women’s Auxiliary and working at the post as a bartender.
She was known for her fun-loving nature and deep love for family and friends. Her hobbies included gardening, with a particular fondness for flowers and plants, which reflected her nurturing character. She also enjoyed camping, an activity that allowed her to explore and relax in the great outdoors. She was equally passionate about shopping and cleaning, showcasing her appreciation for both order and adventure. Her culinary skills, particularly in cooking and baking, were a source of joy.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Beverly Poe; sons, Robert (Tammie) Haselhuhn, and Kevin Haselhuhn; multiple grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Dobias; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stong; parents, Milo and Beaulah Echlin; sister, Barb (Don) Renwick.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Grace Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion in Ludington following services.
