
Phillip Zacharda
Philip Gorden Zacharda, 66, of Ludington, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Born May 7, 1959, in Ludington, Phil was the son of Gorden and Janet (Pedersen) Zacharda. He graduated from Ludington High School, Class of 1977. After graduating, Phil went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy from 1977 until he was honorably discharged in 1981.
Phil married Georgia Elliott on July 26, 1997, and they shared 28 years together filled with love and laughter.
He was the head of construction and maintenance for Peterson Farms in Shelby before retiring in 2012.
Phil was a family man, always putting his loved ones first. His kind-hearted nature extended beyond his family, as he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generous spirit and readiness to support others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
An avid outdoorsman, Phil cherished his time spent hunting and fishing, which allowed him to connect with nature. He also enjoyed golfing, often sharing laughs and friendly competition with friends. Phil also took pleasure in bowling whenever he could.
Phil is survived by his wife, Georgia Zacharda; children Mike (Cassie) Zacharda, Buffie (Russel) Dana, and Meribeth Zacharda; stepdaughters Rhonda Elliot and Marlene Shively; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Wendy (Terry) Johnson; brother Bret Zacharda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gorden and Janet.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
