The City of Ludington (pop. 7,800) is accepting applications for the position of full time police officer, with preference being given to Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certified applicants.
All applicants must be certified/certifiable by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards. Ludington Police Department offers a competitive wages & benefit package, including defined benefit pension (at age 50 with 25 years of service).
LATERAL ENTRY: Newly hired police officers with a minimum of two (2) years continuous full-time MCOLES certified officer experience will begin with a starting pay rate of $31.27 / hour ($68,293.68). Newly hired police officers with a minimum of five (5) years continuous full-time MCOLES certified officer experience will begin with a starting pay rate of $32.42 / hour ($70,805.28). MCOLES certified applicants are eligible for a $10,000 hiring incentive. Residency in accordance with current applicable State Law.
