Mason and Oceana counties are under two winter weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Both counties are included in an advisory that remains in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9. A second advisory begins at 10 p.m. Tuesday and continues until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
For the first advisory, expect mixed precipitation; additional snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches; a light glaze of ice; and winds gusting as high as 35 mph. For the second advisory, snow is expected with total accumulations between 2 and 6 inches and winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
“Plan on slippery road conditions, states NWS. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday and Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
After Wednesday, lake effect snow showers are expected Thursday into Thursday night with another round of snow chances heading into the weekend.
