HESPERIA — The Ludington High School Wrestling Team was defeated in both matches of the Hesperia-hosted tri-meet Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Ludington vs. Hesperia
The Orioles fell to Hesperia, 60–22, but delivered several strong individual performances.
Julian Boerema (132 lbs) earned a win for Ludington. Owen Young secured a victory by pin at 144 pounds, while Corbin Duffield picked up an injury-default win at 175 pounds. Kaleb Laaksonen added a major decision at 190 pounds to round out the team’s scoring efforts.
Ludington vs. Muskegon Oakridge
In the Orioles’ second dual of the night, the team battled Muskegon Oakridge in a competitive matchup, ultimately falling just short, 42–36. Despite the narrow loss, several Ludington wrestlers delivered strong performances.
Brody Schnell earned a pin at 126 pounds, while Julian Boerema (132 pounds) and Wayne Serling (138 pounds) each secured wins by forfeit. Patrick Carston added another forfeit victory at 165 pounds. At 190 pounds, Kaleb Laaksonen continued his strong night with a major decision, and Chase Gable capped off the scoring with a pin at 215 pounds.
