LUDINGTON — The Ludington High School varsity boys’ basketball team defeated Spring Lake 48-42 for the first home game Thursday, Dec. 4. But, the win didn’t come easy.

Ludington held on for dear life after jumping out to a 28-14 lead at the half,” said Orioles Coach Thad Shank. “Spring Lake dominated the third quarter and came all the way back from 14 down to take a 35-34 lead into the fourth quarter.”

Shank said the Orioles exploded in the fourth behind Taj Williams’s 9 points to pull out the victory. Zac Graham made a free throw with 3:10 left to push the Orioles to a 45-42 lead. After a defensive stop Messiah Himes missed a 3 point shot and Steele Stowe tipped a rebound to Taj Williams who scored on the put back and was fouled. After making his foul shot the Orioles stretched their lead to 48-42 at the 2:45 mark. Which gave the Orioles the cushion they needed to  finish the game.
