Bay City man arrested after police locate missing, endangered girl

MASON COUNTY — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 31-year-old Bay City man after locating a missing and endangered girl early Saturday morning, Nov. 15.

The sheriff’s office posted on Facebook Friday night that a girl was missing and endangered and asked for the public’s help in finding her. At 4 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office announced that the girl that had been found, and the suspect was arrested.

The following is the sheriff’s office post:

“As of 4 a.m. this morning, detectives from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office located the missing and endangered juvenile from Mason County. She has been safely returned to her parents.

“Additionally, as part of the investigation, detectives took a 31-year-old male from Bay City into custody. Our office will release additional details at a later time. However, this is an example that human trafficking exists and should be a discussion with all our parents and children about those dangers.

“We thank the public for sharing this information, which helped us disseminate it across the state.

“Finally, we have removed the names and photos associated with this post to protect the identity of the juvenile.”
