Second annual Cultural Corners event scheduled for Sept. 26

September 19, 2025

LUDINGTON — The second annual Cultural Corners event will take place on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will highlight four downtown Ludington cultural organizations that are located near each other: Mason County Historical Society, Ludington Area Center for the Arts, Sandcastles Children’s Museum and Mason County District Library.

The free block party that takes place at the intersection of Ludington Avenue and Harrison Street, will include hands-on activities, live entertainment, and open doors to explore everything our cultural community has to offer.

“Downtown Ludington’s Cultural Corner is a hub of creativity and learning,” said Andrew Skinner, executive director of LACA. “This street party gives all four organizations the chance to celebrate together and invite the community to experience the fun, meaningful, and exciting cultural opportunities we provide throughout the year.”

Live music by the Beet Diggers will take place on South Harrison Street. Other highlights will include:

  • John Marek’s whimsical balloon creations at Sandcastles;
  • Giant outdoor games like Jenga, Connect 4, checkers, and chess supplied by MCDL and Sandcastles;
  • A “Make Your Mark” community painting project at LACA;
  • The West Shore ESD’s inspiREading Book Bus (every child takes home a FREE book!)
  • A trivia scavenger hunt at the library;
  • Tin punch and weaving activities hosted by the historical society.

Inside, each participating organization will open its doors with free admission, giving visitors a chance to explore exhibits, galleries, and hands-on experiences. Visitors can also pick up a Cultural Corner Passport—those who collect stamps from all four organizations can redeem their passport for free House of Flavors ice cream along Harrison Street.
