LUDINGTON — A 66-year-old man was sentenced to 40 months to 30 years in prison in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Sept. 16, for convictions of child sexually abusive activity, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and accosting a child for immoral purposes.
Timothy Lee Hansen pleaded guilty to the charges Jan. 17, according to court records. He was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski Tuesday to concurrent prison terms of 40 months to 30 years; 40 months to 30 years; 14 months to 40 years; and 14 months to six years, according to court records. He received credit for 148 days served in jail. Hansen committed the crimes April 19, 2024, his court file states.
“I argued for a sentence within the guideline range of 72 months to 120 months,” said Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Beth Hand. “The court determined that the facts warranted a 40 -month sentence.” Hansen has 10 prior misdemeanor convictions, said Hand.
“He believed the person he was meeting was 14 years old,” said the prosecutor.
