Laurie Gatton
Laurie Marie (Tyndall Stanfield) Gatton, 65, of Walkerville, passed away, Monday, September 1, 2025, in Baldwin, after a long hard battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born on October 5, 1959, in Ludington to Henry and Dorothy (Stickney) Tyndall and raised in Carr Settlement. Laurie attended Mason County Central Schools and graduated in 1977. She moved to North Carolina in 1987. She was a gifted seamstress and utilized her skills working in the textile industry as a sewer. Laurie moved back to Michigan in 2006 and was employed at GHSP in Hart for several years. She enjoyed cheering on her grand-babies and the Walkerville Wildcats and working in her flower gardens.
Laurie is survived by her children, Amy Beth (Jason) Haligus, Kevin (Krista), Stanfield Jr. and Bambie Stanfield (Daniel Plotts); grand-babies Andrian ( Angel) and Anthony Haligus, Audrey Goram, and Mason, Kaylee and Carson Stanfield; her dad, Henry Tyndall; brothers, Mike (Barb) Tyndall and Scott (Becky) Tyndall: sisters Jean (Scott) Briggs, Renee (Bill) VanDyke and Amy Hogan; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; good friends Kelly Payne, Geri Swiger, and Joe Depeel. Laurie was preceded in death by her mom, and the fathers of her children Kevin Stanfield and Jack Haligus.
A family and friends gathering will be held on Saturday, September 13 starting at 2 p.m. at the Ruby Creek Conservation and Recreation Club, 8152 E. Washington Road Branch (Logan Township). The family would like to thank Grand Oaks Nursing Center, and Hospice of Michigan, for the support, tender love, and care they provided to Laurie and her family.
