BRANCH TOWNSHIP — Emergency crews responded to a reported overturned canoe and two men in the Pere Marquette River near Taylor Road Monday, Sept. 8, at 9:45 a.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
A 72-year-old Waterford man and an 85-year-old man from Macomb County’s Shelby Township both were treated at the scene by Life EMS, said Sheriff Cole.
The following is other police activity in Mason County Monday, Sept.8, 2025:
- 7 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of the US 31 bypass, Amber Township.
- 7:45 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Benson Road north of US 10, Branch Township.
- 8 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Dennis Road, Victory Township.
- 8:28 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Masten Road south of Binger Road, Logan Township.
- 1:20 p.m., (MCSO), a 25-year-old Ludington man turned himself in at the sheriff’s office on an outstanding failure to appear traffic warrant issued in Mason County, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 7:17 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 27-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic assault following a complaint in the 300 block of East Tinkham Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 7:56 p.m., (LPD), a 19-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for disorderly conduct following a disturbance call in the 600 block of North Rowe Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 9:58 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road north of Millerton Road, Sherman Township.
