AMBER TOWNSHIP — Multiple agencies responded to a fire in Amber Township that involved a house trailer and several other items surrounding it Saturday afternoon. Scottville Fire Department, Pere Marquette Fire Department and Custer Fire Department were initially called to 1447 N. Victory Corner Rd. at 3:37 p.m. for a report of a house fully engulfed in fire. A Life EMS ambulance was the first unit on scene with personnel reporting several people needed medical care, with the request for an additional ambulance. However nobody appeared to have been transported by the ambulances.
While en-route, Scottville Fire Department command requested additional assistance from Hamlin Fire Department and Fountain Area Fire Department, later also requesting assistance from Ludington Fire Department. Mason County Sheriff’s Officer deputies and the Fountain Fire Department Auxiliary were also on scene. Great Lakes Energy was called to shut down power to the house.
The fire spread to multiple items that surrounded the house, which, according to equalization records, is owned by Douglas Lemere.
Firefighters had the fire mostly extinguished within two hours.
