Jayden Knudsen

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jayden Fynn Knudsen of Ludington, who died on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 20.

Jayden was born in Ludington on May 14, 2005, to Ellen Darke (Knudsen), stepfather Michael Darke, and Shane Bowman (biological father).

Jayden graduated from the Oriole Academy in Ludington in 2023. He was currently a clerk at Goodwill. Jayden’s previous job working at Dusty’s Autobody started his desire to work hard, which led into cutting trees and splitting wood with his cousin Hunter; whom he looked up to and tackled many jobs together. Jayden was planning on going to college to pursue a business degree.

He will be remembered for his wittiness, intelligence, kindness, always making people laugh with his quirky jokes and his infectious smile. He was very philosophical about life and loved deep conversations. Jayden was a gifted athlete as well, taking after his father and uncle. He loved and thrived at soccer throughout his school years. Jayden was a very sweet, tender-hearted, and empathetic person. He was the kind of person who would light up a room every time he walked in it.

Some of Jayden’s interests and talents included working on cars, reading, gaming, computers, and running. His most recent love was music and his guitar. He was learning quickly how to play since his grandfather and uncles inspired him with their musical talent. Jayden enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him.

Jayden is survived by his mother, Ellen (Knudsen) Darke; stepfather, Michael Darke Jr; his siblings, Lewis and Heidi Darke; his maternal grandparents, Kim Babcock and Randy (Donna) Knudsen; his paternal grandparents, Peggy and (Clifford) Bowman; his step grandparents Kathleen and Michael Darke Sr; his aunts and uncles Erin (Eric) Jensen, Brent (Leta) Bowman, Kevin (Kelly) Knudsen, Jenifer (Brett) Betteridge, Michelle Darke, Lauren Babcock, Kristen (Knudsen) Luna, Deanna Kutz and Breanna Bowman. As well as his many cousins; Hunter, Faith, Carson, Parker, Drew, Braylynn, Madalynn, Collin, Rylynn, Britney, Joshua, Justin, Kaela, Cassidy, Brylynn, Kota, Leim, Bryar, Avra, Sean, Brady, Bohdric and Bearham.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shane Bowman; great-grandmother, Elise Knudsen; and Uncle Ryan Knudsen.

A memorial service to honor Jayden’s life will be held on Friday, September 12 at 5 p.m. at Grace Funeral Home in Ludington. Visitation starts at 4 p.m.
