The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Friday, Aug. 29, 2025

– 7:35 a.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO): Car/deer crash, no injuries, Free Soil Road east of Tuttle Road, Free Soil Township.

– 1 p.m., MCSO: Two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
– 6:35 p.m., Ludington Police Department (LPD): An 18-year-old Ludington man was arrested in the 700 block of East Filer Street on an outstanding warrant from Mason County’s 79th District Court. The original charge was misdemeanor assault.

Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025

– 7:15 a.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, US 31 south of Hoague Road, Free Soil Township.

– 4:06 p.m., MCSO: One vehicle crash, no injuries, Young Road east of Landon Road, Branch Township.

Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025

– 7:30 a.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Conrad Road east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.

– 2:16 p.m., LPD: A 63-year-old Ludington man was arrested near the intersection of Ludington Avenue and Madison Street for operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor. The vehicle he was driving had been left parked in the travel lane of Ludington Avenue.

Monday, Sept. 1, 2025

– 12:34 p.m., MCSO: Two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.

– 4:31 p.m., MCSO: An 18-year-old Scottville man was arrested after he was found in possession of a stolen handgun, 800 block of East Filburn Road, Custer Township.

– 6 p.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, US 10 east of Federal Forest Trail 6670, Branch Township.

– 7:25 p.m., MCSO: Two vehicle crash, minor injuries, US 10 and Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township. A 76-year-old Ludington woman received minor injuries after the vehicle she was riding in was rear-ended while at a traffic light.

– 8:34 p.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Quarterline Road north of Modjeski Road, Grant Township.

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025

– 1:02 a.m., LPD: A 47-year-old Hart woman was issued a citation for operating a vehicle with an improper license plate affixed to the vehicle and also no insurance. The traffic stop occurred near Ludington Avenue and Harrison Street.
