
Bonnie and Ray Griffin
Bonnie Kate Griffin, 86, of Ludington, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at home. She was born August 9, 1938, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Albert and Ada (Webb) Hard.
On September 19, 1952, Bonnie married Ray “Bud” Griffin II, and in 1954, they moved to Ludington to raise their family.
Bonnie worked as a line/prep cook for many years at several area restaurants including PM Steamers, Hobby Crest and House of Flavors in Ludington and Manistee. She also made amazing cakes for special occasions including weddings, birthdays and graduations. Bonnie was known to be everyone’s “grandma”.
Bonnie is survived by: three children, Bonnie L. Griffin of Arizona, Ray Griffin III of Ludington and Diana Hernandez of Ludington; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by: her husband of 62 years, Ray “Bud” Griffin II; her son, Carl Griffin; six brothers; five sisters; two grandsons, Ray Griffin IV and Roger Hernandez; two daughters-in-law; and one grandson-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel in Ludington. Interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sherman Township. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
