Man ticketed for dumping trash along the road

RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — A 63-year-old Ludington man was cited for illegal dumping after Mason County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of trash scattered alongside Meisenheimer Road near Stiles Road Tuesday, July 8, around 11:30 a.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“A name was located among the trash, and the owner was cited by deputies,” said Sheriff Cole.

The following is other recent police activity in Mason County:

Tuesday, July 8, 2025:

  • 11:34 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Dennis Road north of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:17 p.m., (MCSO), a 32-year-old Fountain woman turned herself in at the sheriff’s office on a misdemeanor Mason County embezzlement warrant, City of Ludington.
  • 1o:29 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 32-year-old Scottville man was arrested on a felony warrant issued by the Cadillac post of the Michigan State Police following a traffic stop near Madison Avenue and Dowland Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 10:44 p.m., (MCSO), stolen/recovered Letric brand e-bike, 1600 block of North Lakeshore Drive, Hamlin Township. The complainant reported their bike was stolen. The owner had the key, so the bike would have been peddled away from the scene, said Sheriff Cole. At 3:30 a.m., deputies returned to the area to conduct further investigations into the theft and found the bike in the woods near where it was stolen. The bike was not damaged and returned to the owner.

Wednesday, July 9, 2025:

  • 12:36 a.m., (LPD), a 30-year-old Ludington man and a 25-year-old Ludington woman were arrested following a call near the intersection of Foster Street and Rath Avenue, City of Ludington. The man was arrested for bond violation and methamphetamine possession, and the woman was arrested for bond violation and domestic assault. Both suspects were lodged in the Mason County Jail.
