SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County District Library Scottville branch is seeking donations to help raise funds for its newly remodeled children’s section. For over a year, a committee has worked on updating the space. The committee has included children, parents, library staff and library board members.
The children’s section hasn’t had major updates in over 25 years.
“Our goal is to create a more engaging and inspiring environment for all of Mason County’s children,” said Ingrid Fournier, Scottville branch manager.
“Guided by a nature theme, we’ve already started this project by refreshing the space with new paint and a forest mural. Now we are asking for your help either with an in-kind donation or a monetary gift to add essential additions such as comfortable seating, safety upgrades, improved shelving, and storage for children’s activities and materials.
“These upgrades will ensure that the Scottville Library continues to be a place that inspires lifelong learning, promotes literacy, and provides access to vital resources and programs.”
The fundraising goal is $10,000. Any amount of donation is appreciated, Fournier said.
Checks can be made out to the Mason County District Library, PO Box 549, Ludington, MI 49431 (write Scottville children’s section in the memo line) or you can be securely donated through Paypal.
