Fred Keson
Frederick John Keson of Ludington, affectionately known as “Johnny,” gained his wings on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Fred was born May 8, 1967, in Muskegon, the son of Louis LaVerne Keson and Florence Marie Keson (Bialochowski). Fred was a 1985 graduate of Ludington High school. He and Fairlyn (Beth) were married October 14, 2000.
Fred was a shift supervisor in powder coat at Strait Steel and Wire for many years before leaving and becoming a lead saw operator at UACJ Whitehall Industries, where he has been for more than 20-plus years.
Fred was full of life and lots of corny jokes. He was funny, goofy, loving, giving, generous, kind and talented. His greatest love was seeing people happy, especially his family. He had a talent for woodworking and loved to build and create things. He loved cooking and hosting get-togethers where friends and family could gather around his fire pit. He spent a lot of time in his yard making it appealing and welcoming to anyone that visited. He loved the outdoors. One of his favorite places to visit was Tahquamenon falls.
Fred will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved him.
Fred is survived by his wife Fairlyn (Beth) Keson, and two daughters: Devon (Elmer III) Austin and Sabrina (Richard) Marshall; four grandchildren: Rylee Austin, Elmer Austin IV and Christopher and Adelaide Marshall; four sisters, Penny (Ken) Walsama, Frances Keson, Patricia Craig, and Betty Wabsis; mother-in-law Mirenda Vincent; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews and extended family.
Fred was preceded in death by; his father, Louis LaVerne Keson; mother, Florence Marie Keson; brothers Louis M. Keson and Richard A. Keson; sister Susie Gorecki; beloved uncle, Fred Otto Keson; aunts Julia Carolina and Leatha Viola; and uncle, La Verna.
