LUDINGTON — A 16-year-old Ludington girl who was involved in an ORV rollover crash Wednesday, June 4, died as a result of her injuries, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“On June 7, 2025, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Kieara Stockwell, 16 of Ludington, had passed away from injuries sustained in an ORV crash on June 4, 2025,” said Sheriff Cole.
Stockwell was critically injured in the crash south of Barothy Road in Logan Township Wednesday at 7:37 p.m. Another 16-year-old girl was also injured.
Stockwell was airlifted to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A preliminary report by the Mason County Crash Reconstruction Team found a 2017 Honda Rancher 420 operated by Stockwell went off a trail and rolled over, pinning her underneath.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, with Pastor Keith Theis officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeshore Animal Friends.
