Flipstar Gymnastics holds Spring Fling show-off and fun meet

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Flipstar Gymnastics had over 100 gymnasts participate recently in its end-of-the-year Spring Fling Class Show-Off and In-House Fun Meet.

Recreational class kids who participated in the Class Show-Off sessions had the opportunity to show their families the skills they have learned and the improvements they have made this school year. Team gymnasts who participated in the Fun Meet sessions had the opportunity to put some of the new skills they have been working on in the gym into their routines since this was a non-scoring meet.

“They did very well earning almost all blue ribbons (the highest award possible),” said Aimee Goff, head coach and co-owner. “We are so proud of all of these Flipstar kids. They have all been working so hard and it really showed in how well they all performed at this end of the year event.

“Despite this being a very busy time of the year, we had great turnout and a full house during all sessions. We are very thankful for all of the parents and everyone in this wonderful community that took the time out of busy schedules to come watch all these Flipstar kids perform.”

Even though the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, there is still a lot of fun coming to Flipstar this summer.

“Not only will we be running summer classes, but we will also have a variety of camps and skill clinics,” Goff said. “We have something for everyone.”

The Flipstar competitive season is concluding with regional and national meets next month with 17 team gymnasts who have qualified for and will be traveling to Illinois to compete in the Xcel Regional Championship Meet as well as four gymnasts who have qualified for AAU Nationals in June.
