Earl named Michigan Dairy Field Person of the Year

GRAND RAPIDS — Lyndsay Earl was recently named the Michigan Dairy Field Person of the Year by the Michigan Dairy Industry at its annual conference in Grand Rapids earlier this week.

Earl is a field representative for Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). She lives in Hamlin Township with her husband, Seth, and their two daughters, McKenzie and Madisyn, grew up on her family’s farm, Stakenas Farms, in Free Soil, a centennial farm. She is the daughter of Terri and Bill Stakenas.

Earl is a graduate of Mason County Central High School and earned her bachelor’s degree, with a major in animal science and agricultural business, from Michigan State University. Prior to being hired by MDARD, she spent 15 years as a field representative for Michigan Milk.

The Michigan Dairy Field Person of the Year is tailored for dairy industry professionals who are working with dairy farms to improve the vitality and quality of our milk supply. Individuals are nominated by fellow industry professionals.

Earl also serves on the West Shore Community College Board of Trustees as its treasurer.
