Alfonso Padron

Alfonso Padron, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2025, in Scottville. Born on December 18, 1937, in Eagle Pass, Texas, he was a man of integrity, faithful husband and loving father. He was known for his caring, compassionate, and loyal nature. Alfonso brought joy to those around him with his warm smile and helping hand. He had a devout faith and was an active member of St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington.

Alfonso dedicated many years to working as an agricultural laborer for Harmon Orchards, Christofferson Farms, Kistlercrest Farms and Hackert Farms, all in Riverton Township. He served as a production associate and supervisor at FloraCraft, where he retired in 2011 after 46 years of commendable service.

Outside of work, he was a talented carpenter and an avid fisherman who cherished time outdoors. Alfonso took pride in tending to his vegetable gardens and maintaining his lawn and family acres. His passion for the outdoors extended to his younger years when he enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes and racing RC cars. If not outdoors, you would find him surrounded by his children and grandchildren telling family stories and bringing joy and laughter into their hearts or watching classic western and war movies.

Alfonso is survived by his loving wife, Maria Padron and their daughters, Cynthia (Rudy) Lopez, Betty (Tony) Alanis, Peggy (Gerardo) Morales, and Esmeralda (Ryan) Bennetts. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He also leaves behind his siblings, Armando (Modesta) Padron, Elida Garcia, and Teresa (Armando) Mireles. Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents, Maria (Arellano) and Alberto Padron, and his brothers, Andres, Alberto II, Manuel and Juan Padron, and his brother-in-law, David Garcia.
