Traverse City-area attorney/developer appointed to West Shore Bank board

LUDINGTON — Joe Sarafa, a Traverse City-area attorney, was appointed to the West Shore Bank Board of Directors during its meeting on Sept. 17. Sarafa has been an attorney for over 40 years and is a partner in the law firm of Moothart & Sarafa, PLC, located in Williamsburg. He is the third addition to the bank’s board this year with Dennis Patrick McCarthy and Robert G. Mannes appointed in April.

Sarafa is also owner of Envision Development, LLC in Traverse City who buys, builds and manages properties throughout Michigan. The company is currently focused on commercial and office properties in northwest Michigan, and recently developed and built West Shore Bank’s Traverse City location.

Sarafa is very involved in the Traverse City community, serving multiple business and charitable organizations in several capacities over the years. He currently serves on the board of a publicly traded insurance company, a local winery, and is involved in several local projects.

Sarafa earned a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and earned a juris doctorate degree from the University of Detroit.

He is a life-long Michigan resident and has been married to his wife, Kelley, for 37 years. They have two children and two dogs.
