RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — Fifteen mailboxes were smashed overnight in the Riverton Township area, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Deputies responded to numerous calls Friday morning, Sept. 6, reporting mailboxes damaged.

Friday, Sept. 6, 2024:
- 1:10 p.m., assault, warrant requested, 7600 block of East Sugar Grove Road, Sheridan Township. The complainant reported being punched in the face by a neighbor. The case remains under investigation.
- 5:04 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township.
- 8:05 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Koenig Road, Free Soil Township.
Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024:
- 3:12 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive and Decker Road, Hamlin Township.
- 6:08 p.m., two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, Chauvez Road east of Palmer Road, Pere Marquette Township.
Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024:
- 2:57 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Tuttle Road, Eden Township.
- 10:13 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road east of Schwass Road, Riverton Township.
- 9:09 p.m., car/deer crash, minor injuries, US 10 east of Taylor Road, Branch Township.
