Loreen Stream

Loreen R. Stream, 88, formerly of Scottville and Grandville, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 4, 1936, to Wesley and Garnet Lundquist, Loreen was raised on the family farm, where she developed her impeccable homemaking skills and a passion for cooking and baking.

Loreen met Keith Stream at a church function, and the two quickly became inseparable. They married on September 25, 1955, and spent 54 years together until Keith’s passing in 2010. Together, they made their home in Scottville, where they lived for over 30 years while raising their four children. Loreen was a devoted homemaker and also worked part-time as a  local Avon representative, receptionist for the Ludington Daily News newspaper distribution site in Scottville, and secretary for Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville. In 2000, following retirement, they moved to Grandville to be closer to their seven grandchildren, becoming avid supporters at their sporting events and fine arts performances. Loreen’s greatest joy and source of pride over the last six years were her five great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “GG”.

Loreen was a long-standing member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville, where she served on the Altar Guild, helped to plan events, and served many church meals. After moving, she became a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Jenison.

Loreen will be deeply missed by her children David and Jodi Stream of Sparta, Mary and Michael Albrecht of Hudsonville, Michael and Dale Rose Stream of Scottville, and Lori and Dan Teelander of Jenison; her seven grandchildren and their spouses, and her five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Rosalie Shangle of Sparta, Pat and Jim Norton of Jension, Jim Lundquist and Sue McCormick of Sparta; brother-in-law Andy VanderWerf of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.

Loreen was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Keith, sister Doris Ann VanderWerf, brother-in-law Edward Shangle, and Keith’s siblings.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the care providers at Faith Hospice and Edison Christian Health Center for the loving and tender care of Loreen over the past five months. You are all appreciated.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 5, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Jenison with Pastor Adam Peck officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, or Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Arrangements by Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home.
