Alberto Padron, Jr.

Alberto Padron, Jr., 84, of Ludington, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.  He was born February 13, 1940, in Crystal City, Texas, the son of Alberto and Maria (Arellano) Padron, Sr.

Alberto worked for over 40 years for Don Harmon Farms, as well as 35 years at Ludington Plastics/Floracraft in Ludington until his retirement in 2000.  In his spare time Alberto enjoyed fishing, watching TV, especially old westerns, football and baseball.  He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

On December 10, 1958, in Wolf Lake, Alberto married Joyce Rose Smith, who survives him.  He is also survived by: his daughter, Janet Oquist; his sons, Alberto Padron III and Jack (Nicole) Foster; his daughter-in-law, Kim Padron; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;  his brothers, Armondo “Joe” (Modesta) Padron and Alfonso (Mary) Padron; his sisters, Helen Garcia and Susie (Mondo) Morales; his sister-in-law, Emelia Padron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alberto was preceded in death by: his sons, Dennis Padron and David Padron; his daughter, Debra Padron; four grandchildren; and his brothers, Andrew Padron and Manuel Padron.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, in Ludington, with a luncheon to follow.
