Patsy Morris

Patsy Lee Morris, born March 4 1933 to Ruth (Compeau) and Francis Carberry, left this world on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Patsy grew up in the Ludington area, raised by her grandmother Alice Bendickson after the passing of her mother in 1939. After graduation from St. Simon Catholic School she served in the Women’s Army Corp and relocated to Monterrey, California where she married her husband Jimmy Morris in 1953. Patsy and Jimmy spent much of their adult lives in California with their beloved pets before returning to Michigan in the early 2000s. To say she was an animal lover is putting it mildly and up until recently she always had a furry, four legged companion close by. She frequently donated to the various local animal charities and always made sure to feed the deer, birds and whatever wildlife made its way to her yard.

Upon her return to Michigan she became actively involved with the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians of which she was a proud elder. Patsy was the second of three daughters, flanked by older sister Leatrice Castonia who preceeded her in death and her younger sister Alice Linscott who survives her.

Patsy was preceeded in death by her husband Jimmy; grandmother Alice; and parents Ruth and Francis.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Per her wishes there will not be any public services.
