RIVERTON AND SUMMIT TOWNSHIPS — A 52-year-old Pentwater man who ran from police was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies with the assistance of a police dog Saturday, July 6, shortly before 8 p.m.

“He was captured following a lengthy K-9 track and foot chase,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The pursuit began when “he passed a stationary Mason County Sheriff’s Office patrol car at over 100 mph in a 55 zone. The deputy pursued the suspect vehicle westbound on Chauvez to Brye, south of Brye to Deren when the suspect reportedly ducked into a driveway and fled on foot.”
