LUDINGTON — A criminal complaint has been filed against Caleb Isiah Russell, 20, of Ludington for criminal sexual conduct, third degree and habitual offender second offense. The alleged offense took place on April 17, 2024 in Hamlin Township. Russell is accused of engaging in sexual penetration with a person at least 13 years of age but under 16 years, according to Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Beth Hand. The incident is being investigated by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. According to court records, he has not yet been arraigned.
On May 23, 2023, Russell pleaded guilty of criminal sexual conduct, fourth degree, in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court. He was sentenced July 18, 2023 to 10 months in jail with credit for 153 days served along with five years probation. He was arrested for that crime on Feb. 8, 2023 by Scottville Police Department.
