Judy Holden

Judy Marie (Johnson) Holden, 83, of Fountain, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, beginning her journey Home, to dance and rejoice with many family members and friends that had gone before her.

Judy was born to Robert and Peggy (Coones) Johnson on May 26, 1940, in Grand Rapids. She graduated valedictorian of her class in 1959 from Wellsville High School in Ohio.

Judy was a devoted wife, and honorable mother to four beautiful children: Christopher E. Swantek, Edward W. Swantek, Steven P. Swantek, and Brian D. Holden. Judy served many roles throughout her life, but her greatest joy was her family. She worked incredibly hard to give her children the best life possible, overcoming the many challenges of her time.

Judy was well known for all her efforts in fulfilling holiday traditions and making the greatest desserts! She was a big fan of Elvis Presley and the Detroit Red Wings! You could always count on watching the game when you come to visit. She enjoyed going to the casino, collecting Native American relics, and was extremely passionate about learning about her late ancestors. She spent countless hours researching her family’s genealogy and building her family tree.

Judy loved her family, undoubtedly. She looked forward to holidays, a time she could count on spending time with her sister, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Judy joins her grandparents; parents; late husbands, David Holden, and Peter Swantek; brothers, Donald Johnson and Ronald Johnson; and son, Christopher Swantek; where they are sure to be spending their days laughing, listening to music, drinking blackberry brandy, and watching over their family.

She is survived by her sons, Edward, Steven, and Brian; sister, Joann Klepser; her grandchildren, Rebecca Hornacek, Brandon Swantek, Michelle Swantek, Katarina Thompson, Nakia Holden, and Hemi Holden; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Arrangements entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, MI. In remembrance, a celebration of life will take place on her birthday, May 26, 2024, at 2 p.m., at her favorite Tallman Lake fishing spot, 6716 E Sherman Street, Sheridan Township.
