Homeless man arrested for breaking into a business, destroying police property

LUDINGTON — A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested by Ludington police officers for breaking and entering of a business and malicious destruction of police property Tuesday, April 22, shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South James Street, according to Cpt. Michael Havemen of the Ludington Police Department.

The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

The following is other police activity in Mason County Tuesday, April 22, 2024:

  • 7:45 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Cleveland Road north of Manales Road, Sherman Township.
  • 9:45 a.m., (MCSO), damaged truck topper, Maple Road, Branch Township.
  • 7:48 p.m., (MCSO), illegal dumping of trash, Tuttle and Kinney roads, Eden Township.
