Man, 73, seriously injured in ORV rollover crash

FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP — A 73-year-old Free Soil man received “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries” after the ORV he was operating rolled over during a crash Saturday, April 6, around 3:30 p.m. in the 9500 block of North Tuttle Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Friday, April 5, 2024:

  • 2:45 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 69-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content following a one-vehicle crash, Marrison and LaSalle roads, Riverton Township. No one was injured. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5 p.m., (MCSO), ​breaking. and entering to a residence, 1000 block of East Anthony Road, Eden Township.
  • 11:03 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Dewey Road east of Jebavy Drive, Hamlin Township.
  • 11:30 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Morton Road, Riverton Township.

Saturday, April 6, 2024:

  • 5:09 p.m., (MCSO), fraud, 5000 block of South Schwass Road, Riverton Township. A payroll check was reportedly altered to increase the amount.
  • 10:45 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 26-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving without insurance following a traffic stop at Court and Harrison streets, City of Ludington.

Sunday, April 7, 2024:

  • 7:16 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Eden Township.
  • 10:41 am., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive and Jagger Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 11:17 a.m., (MCSO), a 32-year-old Mears man was arrested following a retail fraud investigation at Walmart, West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 3 p.m., (MCSO), car/turkey crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Meisenheimer Road, Summit Township.
  • 7:51 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Summit Township.
  • 8:05 p.m., (MCSO), ​a 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 400 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
