VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Two West Shore Community College employees were recently presented with the Staff Member of the Semester Award: Alex Maier, enterprise database administrator, and Gail Kowalski. Each semester, WSCC recognizes an employee who has demonstrated noteworthy achievements of service to the college. Individuals are evaluated in terms of their commitment to the college’s vision, mission, and core values.

Maier has been recognized for his commitment and dedication to continual improvement initiatives across campus. One of his coworkers had this to say about him: “Alex has been a huge asset since joining West Shore. Not only has he helped me and my department improve processes, but I’ve heard numerous times from other employees on campus how he has assisted them with their work.”

Kowalski has been recognized for her unwavering dedication to students and improving their overall experience while on campus. One West Shore student stated, “Every time I come into student services, Gail is so easy to talk to and always cheers me up. She is so friendly and welcoming and always encourages me. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
